Building Bridges of Opportunity

One Child at a Time

Learn More

We support High School education in rural areas in Honduras.

By bringing a Christ-centered education to the children of Agua Caliente and El Cisne, we are actively changing the face of education in Copan Ruinas. Through the teaching of core classes and electives such as agriculture, art, and computers, we are able to provide students with not only a basic education, but skills that will benefit them in the years to come.

Locally Born and Raised

We were created by a dream of three Christian women that wanted to change the shape of Honduran education. Read our story!

Want to be a part of Bridges?

At Bridges, we desire for our students to have the most well-rounded education possible, and we believe a part of that means experiencing other cultures.

Efforts made for the Environment and Waste Separation

In the extracurricular agriculture class, a plant nursery is being established. The soil is prepared, bags are filled, and rows are arranged in small lines. Then, seeds are planted to germinate, and they are being watered to grow trees. The aim is to have trees and reforest a water source in the area, or alternatively, to teach each student to take care of a small tree.

3Rs

We are trying to familiarize the kiddos with the topic of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). We are recycling large water bottles that are no longer useful by repurposing them into another service (trash cans), colored green for organic waste and yellow for inorganic waste.

The goal is to teach a bit about waste separation and create a repeater effect, in the community they live, teaching to younger kids in other schools about waste management, and trash cans are donated based on the number of classrooms in each center. Additionally, each student in the school receives two trash cans to learn how to separate waste at home.
