Our Vision

Bridges is a path to show the love of Christ to those in desperate need.

Bridges is organized to assist the underprivileged of the world, with a special emphasis on education as a means for long-term change. The organization’s goal is to help meet the basic necessities of life and create bridges of opportunity to enable individuals to make a better life for themselves. Bridges is organized as a nonprofit charitable organization. Its main activities are guided toward making opportunities to improve fundamental areas of life. We believe specific areas of need have to be met to achieve its mission. We focus on three main areas in our ministry: Well-rounded education, pastoral and church support, and helping individuals through times of benevolence.

Well-Rounded Education

Bridges operates two schools in rural villages outside of Copán Ruinas, Honduras. One is in Agua Caliente and the other is in El Cisne, and classes are offered for grades 7-12. In addition to a regular academic curriculum, the students are also exposed to agriculture and other life skills training. All of this is done in a Christ-centered environment.

Pastoral and Church Support

Bridges partners with a local denomination, Manos de Jesús (Hands of Jesus), to provide basic needs of pastors and their families in poor areas where financial support is scarce. Pastors and churches also receive discipleship and educational programs to equip them and encourage their work.

Benevolence

Bridges intends to be a help to those who are facing challenges and trying to “get their feet under them,” especially seeking to assist single mothers. We hope to be able to provide housing, assistance, food, clothing, financial counseling, and assistance in finding programs that are designed to help and equip them to better their situations.

Joshua

 1:8-9

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
